Each midwife at Renaissance Midwifery is registered with the College of Midwives of Ontario, our regulatory body. Our official title is Registered Midwife (RM). The conditions of our annual registration are: review of the number of births attended, re-certification of Neonatal Resuscitation Program, and re-certification in an emergency skills program. We all hold admitting privileges at St. Catharines General Hospital.
Renaissance Midwifery is a teaching practice that is active in attending to the student's learning needs. The role of the student varies depending on which level of the Midwifery Education Program they have attained. There is a possibility that a student may be involved in your care. In our experience, women and their families really enjoy students, as they bring a positive energy to the experience and their passion for midwifery is apparent.
